Lady Fit Studio - Success Story

This is a quote I repeat many times to myself as I work daily to build my own business.

 

Anyone who decides to open their own business must be two things: self-driven and determined to succeed no matter what. Well, maybe three things – a little crazy to push your dreams out there!

When I decided to create my own company and opened Lady Fit Studio in 2017, I honestly had no idea what was involved to open your own business.

I had a degree in education and not a business degree. Nor did I come from a family of business owners. I just knew I wanted a lady-only studio. A studio where ladies could come and work out.

Where they could hit specific goals. Where they could learn to love their bodies and gain confidence back. Where they could be around other ladies just like them. I wanted a girl gang that every girl wanted to be in.

I taught for almost four years before venturing out and opening my own business. I had a good following and figured why not. I found the courage to step out and follow my dream.

As small business owners we each have different goals and different ideas about what success is. Maybe it’s six figures a year. Maybe it’s multiple locations. Maybe it’s something to hand down to your kids.

To me, success is seeing the girls grow and realize they too can have their confidence back. Success is when my sons are proud that their mom is the Lady Fit lady.

It took me about one year to truly see Lady Fit start taking off. And then the pandemic hit. During the pandemic, I thought being closed for almost eight weeks that I would lose everything I worked endless hours to accomplish.

I already offered virtual classes for about a year and a half before the pandemic and I saw those classes explode. As we were required to stay closed I discovered having a small studio helped make many feel more comfortable because there was less equipment and fewer germs.

I found my dream studio the week the state opened gyms back up and started working to make my big dream come true. That was to have my logo on my wall and move from 965 sq to 2500 sq ft. This is when I truly found out how much support I had backing me and pushing me toward my dreams.

Fast forward to today Lady Fit virtual classes are all over the world. I have many videos that have gone viral on social media. I have the first 24-hour ladies-only gym in the area.

I just released my own certifications so girls can teach my classes in their hometowns. I just recently certified a Lady Fit instructor in the UK. But most importantly, I have remained the exact same girl who started at a rundown community center with one girl. I have tried to remain humble. My best advice is to remain you!

If you have a dream to open your own business I 100% say, go for it. If there are ten in your town be the 11th and make it your own.

Do it your way with your dreams no matter who thinks it’s silly or tells you it won’t work.

Ladies-only classes and gyms are not the norm and as Lady Fit grows, I am learning it is so needed.

Ladies need this. Mom, Wives, and Daughters need this. I needed this for myself. Owning a successful business is not an 8-5 job. Sometimes it can be an all-consuming job.

The hustle that no one sees. The grind at 5 am to hit goals before my kids got up. The late nights my husband told me I could write my first book and tell my story.

I might have my hand in ten fires. I might have learned to balance being a mom, and wife and owning three businesses but I wouldn’t trade it for any other life.

When ladies walk into Lady Fit Studios, they know they have support there.

So maybe you want to do it and go after that dream. No matter if it’s a small business at first or one that grows bigger than your wildest dreams, it all starts with believing anything is possible and becoming unstoppable.
